Cardiovascular & Pulmonary Section Human Performance Endowment Fund

Purpose:

The “Cardiovascular & Pulmonary Section Human Performance Endowment Fund” was established with the Foundation for Physical Therapy Research in 2006. The Endowment Fund provides funding for scholarships and research grants to investigate physical therapy management of patients with cardiovascular and pulmonary disorders and to investigate physical therapy’s role in prevention, fitness and health promotion.

 This Fund will support an annual Cardio Research Grant. Promotion of Doctoral Studies Scholarships I & II awarded from the Cardiovascular & Pulmonary Section Human Performance Endowment Fund are named after Scot C Irwin, PT, DPT, CCS. Dr. Irwin was a founding member of the Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Section – APTA, Inc. and its first president. He was also one of the first board certified specialists in this practice area. He died unexpectedly in August 2005.

 You may identify the donation as “In Memory of Scot Irwin, P.T., D.P.T., C.C.S.” or specify the Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Section Human Performance Endowment Fund.
